Membership

• Identifies the community of clinicians and researchers working in the field of spinal cord impairment and informs them of the goals and purposes of APS.
• Periodically reviews membership requirements, and recommends revisions to the Board of Directors.
• Recruits physicians and researchers working in the field of SCI care and research.
• Reviews selected membership applications and makes recommendations regarding classification to the Executive Administrator.
• Assists the Administrative Office in revising the Membership Application, Membership Renewal Form and Membership Directory.
• Assists in the development of a mailing list of professionals involved in the field of spinal cord impairment.
• Reviews membership demographics and advise the Board of trends and their implications.
• Conducts periodic membership surveys.
• Develops guidelines and criteria for the APS Awards program.
• Solicits, evaluates and selects nominees for The Excellence Award and The Clinical Service Award.
• Submits the names of appropriate nominees to the Board for approval of award recognition.
