Congratulations
to the 2004 scholarship recipients (from
L): Richard Jones, Jr., studying for his Ph.D. in Indo-European studies
at UCLA. Richard participated in an intensive Finnish language and culture
course in Rauma, Finland, was a research assistant for UCLA professor Jesse
Byock, worked on the "Viking Language Directory" project, and holds
a BS in biotechnology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; Robert
Franklin, a USC graduate student, pursuing his masters in urban planning.
Robert studied at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark and holds an MBA
from San Diego State University and a BA in art history from San Francisco
State University; and William Edstrom, pursuing an MBA at USC. William
holds an MA in biotechnology from Columbia University, New York, and a BA in
biology from New York University. The awards were presented at the Fall
Scandinavian Festival.
